Alabama has always been known around the world as one of the hottest country music touring acts. They were the first country act I ever went to see in concert. After going to see the pop group Chicago in concert, I figured that a country act called Alabama would put me to sleep. Needless to say, I was on my feet with about 15,000 other fans with a standing ovation and demanding an encore … which the guys were happy to oblige us all with. Everybody talks about how music has changed over the years, yet Alabama has stayed true to their style and remained as one of the top groups of all time. This is probably because their 'style' has always been a harmonizing mix of Pop, Rock, Country, Gospel, and Blues. Who could ask for anything more? (I've already got my Toyota). According to Jeff Cook (top left), their success has allowed them all to live out a lot of their dreams, though at times life on the road can wear you down. One of Jeff's dreams was to have a big house. When he and his wife, Lisa, described what they wanted to the architect, it literally ended up being a castle. 'To us, it's just home. The things I love most about it are the kitchen, my huge walk in shower, and the master bedroom where I can just pile up on the bed with my remotes. The kitchen has a huge grill built in, just like in a restaurant. I can be cooking a lot of different things all at the same time for my friends.' I told him, 'Where I come from, they call that a grill cook.' Jeff just laughed and agreed. The creature comfort of home that he misses the most when he's out on the bus is his big shower. ' I'm a big man, and I'm always hitting the walls of the shower on a bus.' Jeff admits that he prefers to fly in, do the gig, and fly back home. 'Teddy and Randy spend a lot more time on the bus, they seem to enjoy it. They have adjoining farms, and both raise cattle, so it's not unusual for them to stop along the way to check out some cows. I'd rather be fishing. I love to fish, but I usually throw them back after I catch them.' That is, when he finds time to go fishing. He and Lisa co-host the Senator Fred Thompson Celebrity Skeet Shoot, and are heavily involved with 'Sugar Bugs', an organization they founded, which helps kids with Diabetes. While Teddy & Randy do most of the writing (another reason they like their time on the bus) Jeff spends his time being creative in the studio. He has a new amplifier company called 'Stinger', and a new guitar he designed for the entry level player. Since I just strum & hum while everybody else picks & grins, I explained my problem was that most guitar necks were too big for my little hand. I'm sure a lot of adults and kids have the same problem. 'It's got a small neck on it, so even you could get your hand around it.' 	Take Chicken pieces-roll in flour (salt & pepper to taste) Beat 2 eggs and pour over chicken in deep dish, be sure each piece is coated with egg batter, Roll again in flour and drop 1 piece at a time in hot Crisco. Turn and let it cook to a golden brown.
